Celebrations are wonderful! There are gifts, speeches about the past year, and there’s always cake. So here we are at the first birthday party of “What About Health?”. I can’t believe it’s been a whole year already since I started this crazy journey. The WAH? Community has grown, there have been many questions asked, nutrition conversations, and a lot of food for thought. Just like any good party, this birthday celebration wouldn’t be complete without reflection speeches, thank you’s and of course, gifts and cake.
Let’s start with the speeches…
There was the very first post, written by journalist Tara Sing (my sister) and myself. We started this blog as a way to answer all the questions we both had about nutrition, food and health.
Then I took the next terrifying step, and began to write solo, publishing posts on coconut oil and what I discovered in my second year of nutrition (which sparked the interest of many other keen nutrition students). We challenged ourselves to eat more veggies and in the process saw many mouth watering photos!
The year involved attempting to eat seasonal foods (in autumn and winter), barely surviving uni exams, the release of the new healthy eating pyramid, trying to snack healthy with friends and learning what nutrition advice to trust… It’s been a great year. I’m so thankful for the year it’s been.
And now, the thank you’s!
Firstly, I need to say a huge thank you to every single one of you. Thank you for reading my posts. Thank you for asking questions. Thank you for helping me learn so much more about nutrition and food. Thank you for letting me share it with you. Thank you for being patient with me as I learn all things nutrition and blogging. Thank you for sharing, liking, commenting and giving feedback. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
And to express my thankfulness, there are some prizes to be won. Because let’s face it, things are much better when they are free.
Gifts for you!
Yoghurt is high in protein, low GI (helping you to feel full for longer), a quick snack and let’s be honest – it tastes amazing.
Bottlefull Water Bottles (420mL)
Because we all need help drinking more water, and these bottles are so cute!
What About Health Tea towels – The Personalising Shop
Embroidered tea towels because cooking is fun but makes a lot of mess.
