Take the challenge to eat more veggies.

Of all nutrition advice out there, what’s the best?

Any dietitian or nutritionist will tell you to eat more veggies or something along those lines.

Is Coconut Oil Healthy?

Coconut oil – the classic super food, miracle food and health food. Coconut oil claims to be responsible for many health benefits, but is it worth all the hype and attention?

Coconut oil is promoted as a source of healthy saturated fat. It’s said to control weight gain, curb sugar cravings, manage type 2 diabetes and is a better cooking oil. That’s a lot of responsibility for coconut oil! Continue reading…

Just a little bite

Whenever I go to a friend’s place, to work or church, I am bombarded with snacks – and not the good kind! Anything from chips, chocolate, lollies, baked goods, cheese or even pizza. You get the idea.

We spent countless hours in the car, explored the classic tourist attractions, ate heaps of food, listened to random songs and just hung out. Continue reading…

Easter, Eggs and Expanding Waistlines

hot cross buns

It’s already April and Easter long weekend is tomorrow! There are so many things I love about Easter – the 4 day long weekend, celebrating Jesus’ death and resurrection, the hot cross buns, feasts and the family get together  – it’s fantastic!

With long weekends and holidays, there is an abundance of all sorts of food! Anyone who knows me, knows I love food. But while there is amazing food during Easter, there is an overload of chocolate and hot cross buns (which contain a lot of kilojoules). Continue reading…
